Vision

To help in accelerating the development of state and welfare of public at large through effective & efficient Grid operation by catering to the requirement of all stakeholders across electricity value chain of Rajasthan power sector in a transparent, equitable and economic manner.

Mission

Being apex body for integrated operation of the power system in the state, SLDC-Rajasthan endeavour to be among the best in operational efficiency, system reliability & commercial viability in the country with a keen eye on reducing global warming by encouraging renewable energy.

(Section 32 of Elec. Act, 2003)

Profile

The SLDC-Rajasthan is the apex body to ensure integrated operation of the power system in the state of Rajasthan. Being the nerve centre of the power system in the state, aim of the SLDC is to coordinate with various generation, transmission and distribution licensees in power sector to achieve maximum possible efficiency, reliability & economy at highest possible security in a transparent manner. Its principal activities include real time Load Despatch functions, Operation & Maintenance of the SCADA system, better integration of RE generation & Energy Accounting.  Being dynamic in nature, the major functions of SLDC are operation, planning, monitoring and control of the power system in real time so that the system is operated in an effective, efficient and transparent manner to safeguard grid stability.

Established in 1975, SLDC presently works as an independent entity under RVPNL and manage more than 14000 MW power flow on regular basis.

SCADA system of SLDC gets real time data of more than 229 nos. EHV GSSs and 20 nos. power generating stations in order to help in better grid operation/management as per grid code.

Rajasthan has huge potential for Solar and wind generation and the REMC will help in monitoring integration of Renewable Energy (RE) generation for better Grid stability.

SAMAST-With an aim to bring uniformity in the forecasting, scheduling, accounting and commercial settlement procedures at the intra-state level, Rajasthan has implemented and made operational STOMS Smart Transmission Operation Management System) project which encompasses guidelines of SAMAST (Scheduling, Accounting, Metering And Settlement of Transactions in Electricity) report issued by FOR, becoming one of the first few states in the country to do so. This will help in smooth integration of renewable energy in to the grid.
